Daiquiri

Hi there my name’s Daiquiri (yes as in the cocktail) or Quiri for short. It’s a much nicer name than the nickname I had when I was in the shelter …“Dreadlocks”… cos I was one big matted mess .

One day some folks came to see me – I jumped up at the kennel all excited and had a fuss made of me, then I wrapped my paws around the man’s arm and leaned up against him for more attention. I was so upset when they walked away and left me there

A few days later the shelter folks put me into a van and took me to a vet – the last thing I remember was going to sleep and then the nice ladies who had visited me a few days earlier were there. (My new Mom and Sister), they gave me a huge hug and love and then I was carried out to their car. A short while later we arrived at a house (my new home) and I ran around the garden and house like a mad thing playing with 3 border collies –my new brothers – Chocci, Milo and Cappucino.

My new family is really great. My dreadlocks have gone and I have lovely soft fur around my bum now. I was sick for a while (I had billiary) but the Vet got me better. I love my new home - there’s always someone willing to give me a hug and a love or play with me and there’s yummy food too. I’ve picked up weight – they can’t call me Twiggy anymore cos I don’t have boney hips now. I’ve started Training at the Birch Acres Dog Club soon –it seems like great fun and I’ve made lots of new doggy friends.

My little brother Cino and I play all day long. When I’m tired I curl up with one of my brothers and have a snooze – Aaaah what a life !

A message from my Family : We have been truly blessed with having the most amazing dogs as part of our family. All of these were either from shelters or “got lost” and found their way to us and were never claimed.
