Our best friend was a Shelter dog - Tamara

I used to walk dogs at my local SPCA , and it
always broke my heart when the animals had to be euthanized. So,
when my husband and I were in a position to adopt a small dog we
naturally went to the SPCA. We couldn't choose a dog as there
were so many that needed homes, so we asked which small dog had
been there the longest. That is how we adopted Shikita, a white
terrier cross. She was a little nervous at first, but soon
settled in.
She is the most loving dog, with a great personality, and is the
light of our lives. She makes us smile every day, and is much
more than just our best friend.
