HOPEFUL NETWORK POLICIES

1. Any homeless animal submitted to the Hopeful Network falls within Hopeful policies. This is not negotiable. The contact details of the current 'owner' will not be made available on the Hopeful Network, and all negotiations will take place through a Hopeful Homer.
2. Any animal placed on the Hopeful Network will be inoculated, dewormed and, if over 6 months old, neutered or spayed.
3. If placed in a home subsequent to being placed on the Hopeful Network, such placing will be conditional upon signing of an adoption agreement with the Hopeful Homer that has taken responsibility for the animal, and in terms of such agreement, ownership of the animal concerned vests in the Homer (the organisation represented by the person who homed the animal) and not the adopter.
4. A home check will be conducted by the respective Homer to ascertain the suitability of the premises and the prospective adopters. The decision of the person doing the home check will not be negotiable.
5. The final decision as to where the animal will be homed will be made by the Hopeful Homer, and not the person placing the animal on the Hopeful Network. Any party seeking to abdicate their responsibilities in respect of an animal must also relinquish any rights in respect of that animal, specifically any rights to decision-making regarding the animals' future. The Hopeful Homers have experience and expertise sufficient to ensure the future wellbeing of any animal placed within their care, and since their responsibility extends into the future of the animal's life until death, the final decisions concerning placement of these Homeless animals will be theirs and will not be negotiable.
6. In the case of pups/kittens under 6 months of age, the adoption contract MUST specify that the pup/kitten will be sterilised at age 6 months, if the adopting person/family sterilise the dog, proof (from their vet) in the form of a sterilisation certificate MUST be issued to the welfare organisation or rescue worker responsible for placing the animal. THIS IS NOT NEGOTIABLE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES AND FAILURE TO HAVE SAID DOG/CAT STERILISED WILL RESULT IN THE ANIMAL BEING CONFISCATED. This stipulation must be included in any relevant adoption agreement.
7. A standardised Adoption Contract and Adoption Application Form is available here: Adoption Contract      Adoption Application Form
8. A standardised set of criteria for home checks, interviews etc., and homing criteria is available here: http://hopeful.ws/intro/propcheck.htm
9. ONLY HOMERS may submit animals to the Hopeful Network to be distributed using the
Animails and to be loaded on the Virtual Shelter. They may ONLY do so using the Submission Form and ONLY to the address animails@hopeful.ws .
