Once you have downloaded the software called
iview399.exe, then double-click on it, install it, and it will
place new icons on your desktop, which include a Splat, a Panda,
and a Google Desktop swirl if you decided to include Google
Desktop Search (It's quite useful but you need to be online to
install it. Be WARNED, it takes up a LOT of your resources,
slows your machine down, and even crashed my Mozilla browser. I
uninstalled the Google option). Click on the Splat (Irfanview)
and the application will open.
Click on File... open and find the file that you want to resize.
Open it. Click on Image... Information to see what size it is
currently. Then click on Image... Resize/Resample, find the 'set
new size' option and change one of the dimensions. It
automatically retains the aspect ratio, and the largets size you
can have on the Shelter is 1000 X 1000 and 250K ( I might still
change this, 250K is very big) so just change the largest one to
1000 and you're fine. Click on FIle... Save As..., find a place
where you will store your current pics, and Save it. Close the
file and reopen it (it does not change it's size in the
Information section unless you do this) and then Click on
Image... Information to make sure it's smaller than 250K.
